DC Triathlon
Sunday, 19 June 2011
L'Enfant Plaza, Washington, D.C.
DC Capital Striders Running Group just agreed to offer approximately 15 volunteers for the DC Triathlon; which will be held on Sunday June 19th. Many of our members have either completed or are training for triathlons and this is a great opportunity to give back to the race community.
Location
Aid Station is located in the 9th St. Tunnel. There is a ramp which is obstructed in the view in the link below; but volunteers can park right there and walk 100 yards down the ramp and you are there. Parking should be available on Independence Ave. or any of the side streets near L'Enfant Plaza.
Time
Some need to be there at 6 am, but most don't need to be there until around 6:30 to 6:45 am. We will be done breaking down our aid station around noon that morning.
The Job
We will be setting up tables, pouring water and/or gatorade into cups and handing them to runners.
What you will get?
- Each volunteer will receive a DC Triathlon Volunteer shirt; food and drinks will be provided and we can cheer on the runners as they make their way to the finish.
- All volunteers will also get free entry into the post race festivities which takes place on Pennsylvania Avenue and 3rd Street. The Festival features music, refreshments, sponsor booths, massages.
- Each volunteer will also get a FREE DC Capital Striders T-Shirt and/or Hooded Sweatshirt provided by Pacers Running Store.
- Also, an opportunity to receive a $15 OFF gift certificate for a $20 Road ID; OR a $20 dollar OFF purchase at The Running Company.
